Before your session...

there are a few things to know

The basics:

  • Each session has a $100, nonrefundable booking fee due at the time of booking, and the remainder of the session fee is due the day of. (Value packages require a higher deposit, see booking tab for full details)

  • All client photographs are delivered through a password-protected online gallery, and stored for 1 year

  • Session photographs will be used for social media, as well as advertising purposes, so if you have any issue with this please inform me prior to the session

  • Each package comes with a designated number of images, however, additional images are available for purchase @ ($15/image)

  • Prints, albums, etc. are available to order in "A la Carte" style

Senior Clients:

  • Professional hair and make up can truly make a session "pop", and is something to consider before your portraits

  • If you apply your own makeup, do so in natural lighting to give the best representation of how it will look on camera (and false eyelashes are a great way to give an extra touch to your usual makeup)

  • If you choose to spray tan, do so at least a week before your session, so you don't appear orange

  • Neutral nail polish is always a YES, bright nail colors can be distracting in your images

  • Ladies, try on your outfits before hand and check for harsh bra lines or visible straps

  • Don't wait til the last minute to plan, you'll feel much more comfortable if you prepare ahead of time for your session

  • Pre-consultation includes makeup, hair, and outfit advice so do not hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have!

Couples and Families

Prepping for couple portraits
  • Try to avoid looking too "matchy matchy", instead, choose a color scheme with 2-3 colors that compliment each other and coodinate each outfit around that

  • Keep it simple, remember "less is more", and loud patterns, print, or logos will distract from the overall image

  • Small accessories can bring a lot into a simple outfit, such as scarves, hats, or statement jewelry

  • If you have small children, be sure to explain the photoshoot process to them so they know what to expect, and perhaps offer a reward afterwards for their good behavior during the session (or even pack a little something along with you if they need a break!)

  • If you have young children or are an expecting momma, consider a long maxi dress. It will make sure you are covered if you are bending down with small kids, or can highlight your beautiful baby bump

  • Neutrals and pastels are guaranteed to go with any background, and are an easy way to prevent clashing!

  • Family portraits are only offered in December during my "Christmas Card Special".

Newborn/Littles:

  • If we are doing an "in-home" session, try to keep the house fairly warm; as an adult it should be almost uncomfortably warm, but that will help the baby sleep well through their session

  • We will do our best to schedule sessions in their morning, as that is when the baby will be the most content

  • A full baby is a happy baby... it is recommended you try to keep him/her awake for at least 2 hours prior to the session, and feed them close to the session start time

  • Wedding rings, sonograms, or any other small accessories can be a great touch to a newborn session

  • For "in-home" toddler sessions, be ready to be silly! If you can stand behind the camera and make your little one laugh, you will end up with adorable, natural images that capture your child's true personality

  • Like with family sessions, sometimes an incentive or reward for after the session can help your little one comply better, as well as explaining to them how much the photos mean to you
